SUMMARY

Mia thinks all problems can be solved with stabbing. Her parents were in politics and were killed when she was younger for a rebellion. She was taken in by an assassin and trained to be one too. Only to find out the assassin party sucks just as much. Recently she was a gladiator slave in order to get close to the men that killed her parents, so she has a slave tattoo on her right cheek She's also a darkin, someone born with an affinity for shadow manipulation. She has no idea how she is one or what she can do or what it means. She does have a talking shadowcat daemon named Mister Kindly that's come with her. Also she's never seen a moon in her life, what's a moon?

DARKIN

a darkin is a person in Mia's world that is said to have the ability to control shadows. Beyond this fact, there is no other knowledge about darkins officially known beyond what Mia herself has discovered. Which isn't much. For more in-depth information, read here. Below are a list of things Mia has learned/can do with her darkin abilities -

DAEMONS	shadow creature that can speak, has it's own sentience, can see and travel distances, and eats the fear of Mia when close to her
TRAPPING	grabbing someone with their own shadow
CLOAKING	pulling shadows around her to create a shadow cloak that makes her almost invisible in specific conditions
STEPPING	stepping into one shadow to step out of another one within line of sight
MANIPULATION	controlling shadows to move beyond typical reach and act out other desires
MELDING	creating a bond with another darkin so that feelings are shared and they can nearly control each other
AMPLIFICATION	her powers get stronger the darker it is, and strongest in a truedark
WEAKNESS	sunlight weakens her abilities and items blessed by the Everseeing as well

ASSASSIN

since Mia was ten years old, the man who took her in has been training her to be an assassin. Mia has taken her training very seriously, as she intends to assassinate the three most powerful men in the republic one day. To do that, she joined the Red Church with helped specialize the basic training that Mercurio taught her. Mia has a strong foundation in stealth, combat, and survival skills, as Mercurio was fond of trials for her ( such as leaving her without water for three days, then putting a decanter of water in the middle of four wild dogs in a room covered with dry leaves and making her get it ).

FITNESS	Mia is in a physically fit state from years of hard training. She's not the strongest person, but she is lean and muscled and she is pretty quick on her feet.
WEAPONS TRAINING	preferring two stiletto daggers, Mia is trained in a variety of weapons as well as with a shield and sword
SUBTERFUGE	taught the art of manipulation, Mia knows how to behave to get what she needs from various peoples
VENOM CRAFT	she can identify many poisons even while suffering them and figure out how to make an antidote if a known recipe doesn't already exist
PICK POCKET	whether with locks or pockets, she has a deft hand and moderate skill in this area
MENTAL FORTITUDE	having been tortured frequently, Mia is shown to be able to be able to hold her tongue under extreme torture
